Overview

This document provides a detailed explanation of the PauseLiveTV feature, including its purpose, usage, and configuration. This feature complements Playlist size for live and shares some of its requirements.

Ad replacement behavior

When the absolute playlist size is configured, the previous ad marker isn't used for ad insertion by default. This prevents unnecessary requests to the ad server. By enabling ad replacement for past ad breaks, Serverside.ai can use these ad markers and insert replacement ads at session start.

Configuration

To replace the previous ad marker, both the Timeshift Window and Playlist size channel options must be configured.

Playback request

The query parameter replaceBehind=true triggers ad replacement for previous ad markers:
