VAST tracking
Overview
There are two ways to report ad playback: client-side and server-side tracking. While Serverside.ai includes server-side tracking by default and requires no additional setup, it might not be suitable for all use cases. To enable client-side tracking, additional implementation is required in your app or website.
VAST standard
The IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) defines standards for online video advertising that specify how ads are described, tracked, made interactive, and scheduled. VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) is the fundamental specification that defines ad types, formats, file locations, player control behavior, and tracking.
Serverside.ai uses this information to prepare each advertisement so that it fits precisely into the requirements of your live and VoD channels. In addition, player-control and tracking data are made available to the client, allowing your app or player to send the required tracking information to the ad server or manage UI controls accordingly.
