Overview

This document describes the DASH packaging specifications used for SSAI live and VoD content, unless otherwise specified.

DASH requirements

The following are the requirements for DASH packaging in SSAI live and VoD content:

• The container format must be ISOBMFF fragmented MP4 (.m4s) with multiple video segments (MIME-type: video/iso.segment).
• The filename extension must be .mpd.
• The segment duration should be 1.92 seconds (based on GOP size), and audio and video segments must be aligned.
• For live content, use a single or multi-period segment timeline with profile urn:mpeg:dash:profile:isoff-live:2011.
• For VoD content, use segment timeline and/or segment template with profile urn:mpeg:dash:profile:isoff-live:2011.
• The MIME type for the manifest must be application/dash+xml.
