    Overview

    This document explains the systems, components, and content-specific requirements needed to implement Serverside.ai for both live linear streaming and video on demand (VoD), including guidance on demonstration channels and the onboarding checklist.

    System requirements

    Before incorporating Serverside.ai into your video business, ensure that the following systems, technologies, devices, and platforms are already in place. While you might already use some of these for traditional video advertising, others are unique to SSAI and require additional implementation.

    Ensure the following systems are in place:

    • Ad server and supply-side platform:​ ​an advertising service that manages your video inventory and campaigns.
    • Content Delivery Network (CDN):​ a server that delivers all digital content, providing HLS and/or DASH URL outputs.
    • Content Management System (CMS):​ a system that maintains metadata for your video content and provides an MRSS feed output. It is required only for VoD.

    After creating your company and user in Serverside.ai, you will receive demonstration channels that already have the above systems in place. This lets you get started without setting up all systems beforehand.

     

    Component requirements

    General requirements 

    Whether you are implementing ads for live linear streaming or VoD, all SSAI solutions require the following components: 

    • Existing ad servers and supply-side platforms
    • Device or platform footprints
    • Digital Rights Management (if your content is encrypted)

    Once these are in place, our account manager will support you in configuring your SSAI channel.
