Configure guaranteed multilingual campaigns
Overview
This guide explains how to configure campaigns for websites that support multiple languages.
Before you begin the setup, provide the following information to the Equativ team:
- Total number of languages: the number of versions your website supports.
- Default language: the primary language for your account.
The default language determines how the platform displays all data and settings.
Page type setup
Equativ treats your website as a single entity. Therefore, you can create one line item per page type, regardless of the number of languages you support. Use the following instructions for each page type:
| Page type | Setup instructions |
|---|---|
| Categories / Universe | Select categories in your default language. Ads will automatically sync and appear on the corresponding pages in all other languages. |
| Homepage | In the Select your page type dropdown menu, select Home. The ad will be active on all language versions of the home page. |
| Product pages | Enter the product IDs. The product pages don't require language-specific configuration. |
| Search pages | Enter keywords in all supported languages (for example, "vacuum" and "stofzuiger"). You don't need separate line items for each language. |
Creative setup
You can manage your ad assets across different languages using one of the following options:
- One asset per language
- Universal asset
Configure one asset per language
Use this option if your graphics contain translated text.
To configure one asset per language, follow these steps:
- Create a campaign or edit an existing one.
- For new campaigns, configure Campaign and Line item settings.
- Select Go to creative.
- For new campaigns, add formats and placements.
- In the Assets Manager, upload a separate file for each language version (for example, one file in French and one in Dutch). Make sure to provide assets for all supported languages.
- Configure the CTA button text for each language version.
- (Optional) Configure the redirect link for each language version.
- Select Validate creative.
Both versions are required to validate your creative.
Configure universal asset
The Use for all languages option applies only to video and image assets. Use it if your graphic has no text or can be used across all languages.
To configure a universal asset, follow these steps:
- Create a campaign or edit an existing one.
- For new campaigns, configure Campaign and Line item settings.
- Select Go to creative.
- For new campaigns, add formats and placements.
- In the Assets Manager, upload an asset.
- Select the Use for all languages button.
- Confirm selection in the Use asset for all available languages? pop-up window.
- Select Validate creative.
Remove asset
To remove an asset, click Remove in the Assets Manager section.
Restore the last validated version
If you accidentally delete an image and your creative was previously validated, click Revert in the Assets Manager section. The system automatically restores the last approved version of the asset.
After reverting, the creative needs to be validated again to ensure it meets all current requirements.
