Configure free budget
Overview
Free Budget lets you allocate a specific budget amount to advertisers without impacting the rate card. It represents delivered but non-invoiced spend, offering greater flexibility in campaign management.
This optional setting can be enabled at the line item level and is available exclusively for Monetization campaigns (Guaranteed or Sponsored products). The free budget amount is defined in euros (€), and a dedicated column in the billing report allows for clear identification and tracking.
ROAS is calculated using the total line item budget, including any configured free budget.
Configure free budget
To configure a free budget, follow these steps:
- Create a campaign or edit an existing one.
- Go to Line item > Delivery.
- In the Budget field, enter the campaign budget in euros.
- Turn on the Free Budget toggle.
- Enter the desired amount.
The free budget can be updated after campaign creation by editing the line item settings.
Validation rules
When defining budgets, ensure you follow these constraints:

| Budget modification | If you modify the line item budget, it must remain greater than or equal to the associated free budget. |
| Maximum value | The free budget must be less than or equal to the total line item budget. |
| Variable values | You can set a different free budget value for each line item. |
Example
If a line item has a total budget of €5,000 and a free budget of €1,000:
- The total budget remains €5,000 (the free budget is included in this total).
- The ROAS calculation uses the total budget of €5,000.
- If the line item spends only €4,000, the sales house decides whether to bill the full €4,000 or €3,000 (€4,000 spend minus €1,000 free budget).
Campaigns created prior to the launch of the Free Budget feature have their free budget automatically set to 0.
