Create and share enhancement demo
Overview
Creating an enhancement demo lets you show clients how a creative looks with a creative enhancement applied. Select an enhancement and a creative, customize the parameters, and then share a newly generated preview link that clients can open without a Maestro account.
A demo is a preview, not a deal configuration. To use the enhancement on a deal, configure it separately in Media planning. You cannot apply a demo configuration directly to a deal.
Client preview features
The shared preview page includes the following elements:
- Desktop and mobile views of a sample article that contains the enhanced ad.
- The demo name and enhancement type.
- A "Learn more" link, which points to the enhancement page on equativ.com by default.
- For display and outstream demos, use the Preview Placement Size dropdown to view all size combinations supported by the enhancement. Select a size to view the rendered ad in that placement, allowing your client to review all supported sizes from a single link.
Depending on the enhancement, the newly generated link includes a drop-down menu that lets viewers switch between supported combinations to see different variants.
Each demo contains one enhancement and one format. To show the same enhancement in different formats, create a separate demo for each format.
Access
Select Enhancements from the navigation menu.
Create demo
To create an enhancement demo, follow these steps:
- Select Enhancements from the navigation menu.
- Select + New Demo.
- Select the enhancement that you want to demonstrate. Click Next.
- From the Format section, select the format supported by your selected enhancement. Demos support Display, Outstream, and CTV or OLV, depending on the enhancement. For example, Headline supports Display or Outstream, while QR code supports CTV or OLV.
- From the Method section, select one of the following creative source methods, and click Next:
- Creative Library: select an existing creative from your company's library. For Outstream, the library lists video creatives.
- Upload from Computer: select Creative Size, and then drop one PNG or JPEG file into the upload area. The image is cropped to the selected size, centered on the image.
- Creative compatibility depends on the selected enhancement. In the library, creatives with unsupported sizes are unavailable. When uploading a creative, only supported sizes are available in the Creative Size selector.
- Available sizes vary by enhancement, so use the sizes offered in the interface for your selected enhancement.
- HTML5, ad tags (ADM), VAST, and video URL inputs aren't supported for demo creation.
- Configure the demo details:
- Demo Name: Maestro prefills the name using the enhancement name and date. You can edit it. Choose a name that your client will recognize because the demo name appears on the shared preview page.
-
Brand: the brand corresponds to the advertiser in Maestro:
- If you upload an asset, you must select a brand.
- If you select a creative from the library, Maestro uses that creative's advertiser.
- Enhancement Parameters: configure the parameters for the enhancement. These parameters match the options in the Media Planning slider. For more information about each setting, see Creative enhancement parameters.
- The configuration preview uses a 300 × 250 slot for demonstration. After you create the demo, the creative renders in a compatible size.
- On the Review Your Demo page, check the following items:
- Demo name and brand
- Ad type and selected creative
- All enhancement parameter values
- Any limits displayed in the review (for example, the maximum 15-character CTA text limit where applicable)
- Select Save to create a demo.
Share preview link
After you save the demo, Maestro displays a preview link. To share it, follow these steps:
- Select the copy icon next to the link.
- Open the link to check the preview before you share it.
- Send the link to your client.
- Select Done to return to the demo list.
Demo link generation isn't immediate. Allow a few moments for rendering and assembly to complete before the preview link becomes available.
This applies to every format, not only CTV and OLV. After you save, Equativ builds the enhanced creative and renders any video before the preview page is ready. If the link doesn't load right away, wait a few moments and open it again before you send it to your client.
Clients don't need a Maestro login to view the preview, and the link doesn't expire. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it only with your intended audience.
Manage demos
On the Demos tab, you can view your company's demos, including their name, enhancement type, ad type, creation date, and status. All users in your company see the same list.
Demo can be managed through the following actions:
- Preview and copy link: to retrieve a preview link, click the three-dot icon next to a demo name and select Preview and copy link. This action copies the link and opens the preview.
- Edit: to edit a demo, click the three-dot icon next to its name and select Edit. In the Edit Demo window, make your changes and click Save.
- Delete: to delete a demo, click the three-dot icon next to its name and select Delete. In the confirmation window, click Delete.
Monitor demo statuses
The Status column displays the following demo statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Created | The demo is ready to share. |
| Failed | The demo wasn't created successfully. |
| Pending | The demo is saved and waiting to be processed. This status applies only to CTV and OLV demos, which need a video render. It also appears after you edit a CTV or OLV demo. |
| Processing | Equativ is rendering the enhanced video. The preview link works once the status changes to Created. |
