Manage advertisers and agencies
Overview
This article explains the creation of advertisers and agencies. Creating these is part of the first administration steps when you start working with Equativ.
Create advertiser
Creating an advertiser is required before you can start creating campaigns and insertions.
In the context of direct campaigns and insertions, the advertiser represents the brand whose ads are served on a publisher's website.
In the context of programmatic monetization, the advertiser isn't the actual advertiser, but is still required to be created as a parent entity of RTB campaigns and RTB insertions.
To create an advertiser, go to Administration > Advertisers and click + New advertiser.

Enter the details in the dialog:
- Name: the advertiser name (required).
- User group: the user group the advertiser is associated with (optional). You can grant user access to the advertisers associated with this user group. For more information, see Manage users and user groups.
- Agency: an entity that manages campaigns on behalf of the advertiser (optional). For more information, see section “Create agency” later in this document. If no agency is specified, the advertiser is designated as a direct advertiser, meaning the publisher sells campaigns to the advertiser without agency involvement.
- Salesperson: the salesperson responsible for this advertiser, available as a filter or column in reports and in the campaign list (optional). The salesperson defined on advertiser level is attributed to newly created campaigns only. If you change the Salesperson on advertiser level, the change will not be applied to the campaigns created previously for this advertiser.
- Traffic manager: the traffic manager responsible for the campaign management for this advertiser, available as a filter or column in reports and in the campaign list (optional). The traffic manager defined on advertiser level is attributed to newly created campaigns only. If you change the traffic manager on advertiser level, the change will not be applied to the campaigns created previously for this advertiser.
- External ID: An identifier used in a third party system to identify the advertiser (optional).
- External description: A description used in a third party system to describe this advertiser (optional).
-
Excluded domains: The domains where the advertiser's campaigns mustn't be displayed. Domain exclusion on the advertiser/insertion level requires activation. Reach out to your service contact to have it enabled.
⚠️ Exclusion is supported only for domains, passed in ad requests to Equativ using thepgdomainparameter. You can't exclude bundle Ids of apps!
The uploaded domain list must be acsvfile and have one domain per row.
Format domains aswww.domain.comorsubdomain.domain.com. Don't use wildcards.
The domains must match the publisher domains where Equativ ad tags are located.
You can also exclude or allow domains at the insertion level. For more information, see Set general targeting criteria. If you exclude a domain at the advertiser level and allow it at the insertion level, the advertiser-level setting takes priority and the domain remains excluded.
Click Create to create the advertiser.
