Comply with Digital Services Act (DSA) requirements
Overview
Consumers require transparency regarding the advertisements they see and the use of their personal data. To meet these demands, the Digital Services Act (DSA) requires online platforms in the European Union (EU) to label ads clearly. Platforms must also provide information about the parameters used for ad targeting and instructions on how users can modify those parameters. The Digital Services Act applies only to EU member states.
Equativ DSA compliance
To comply with the DSA, Equativ adds an information icon next to the mandatory Sponsored label on every ad. Clicking this icon opens a modal containing the following sections:
- Targeting attributes: A static list of the attributes used to target and display the current ad.
- Ad transparency details: The name of the brand of the displayed ad and the name of the entity paying for the ad. The ad server returns both of these attributes in the ad response.
