Get started with display and video formats
Overview
This document provides general information, specifications and best practices for on-site display and video ads. Most on-site ads are available in two versions: video and display. In the display version, an image replaces the video player.
Example
The following screenshot shows an example of an on-site ad.

Products
Most formats include a carousel of products. Users can navigate between products by clicking the arrows or dots. The position of navigation arrows or dots on the product block is fixed. Their design is defined during the validation phase with the retailer.
The product section of the creative can include a single product.
Technically, the API response for each format returns no minimum or maximum number of products. However, you can add rules for the minimum or maximum number of products to display for your formats.

Additional best practices
- Ensure the video doesn't contain call-to-action elements that encourage shoppers to click the video. Clicking the video causes it to pause.
- Use videos that display the main message within the first few seconds.
- Use videos that shoppers can understand without sound. If necessary, add text that is easy to read.
Video display in container
There are two types of display, depending on the size and aspect ratio of the image or video:
- The image fills the container if it has the same ratio and its dimensions are greater than or equal to the container.
- The image doesn't fill the container and has a blurry effect if the image ratio differs from the container or its dimensions are smaller than the container.
Mandatory video player features
The Kamino platform offers various video ad formats using a video player with the following mandatory features:
- Fixed video dimensions: 16:9 and 9:16
- Autoplay
- Interactive progress bar
- Mute and unmute button
- On-click play and pause
The platform doesn't support 4K videos.
Autoplay video behavior
Video ads start playing automatically when at least 50% of the video is visible on the screen. The video pauses if this condition is no longer met. The sound is off by default, but shoppers can activate it by interacting with the video player.
