Network currency vs. DSP currency

When you start working with Equativ, you can set a local currency in your network. This currency is permanent and cannot be changed later. Equativ’s DSPs can set up their deals in their local currency, but bidding on Equativ publisher inventory is always in EUR or USD, because DSPs convert any currency into EUR or USD.

Currency fee

For currency conversion, Equativ uses the ExchangeRate-API with exchange rates updated every 4 hours. These exchange rates are used for deals where the network currency differs from the DSP's currency.

DSPs pay Equativ much later than the time the revenues were made. While this is not a problem when dealing with a single currency, there is a risk that exchange rates change to the disadvantage of Equativ between the day revenues were made and the actual payment date. To reduce this risk, Equativ is applying a currency fee of 2.5% in case the publisher (network) currency differs from the DSP's currency.

The currency fee is only applied to open auctions – not to private auctions, preferred deals and guaranteed deals. Likewise, technical fees your contract with Equativ may include apply to open auctions only – they have no impact on private auctions, preferred deals and guaranteed deals.
